I had used TN Panels for the best part of the last 10 years mostly playing games, movies and work. This is what a real LCD panel is supposed to look like.
You pay for quality and this is a well built IPS monitor. The colours are rich and the response is great. It has such large real estate in terms of screen size. I'm able to have my IDE on one side and any research on the opposite side for programming.
Was torn between the Dell 24" IPS and this one, but decided to go with this one because of the tinting issues people have been reporting. Also, it got good reviews on other sites. I ended up buying 2 of these to replace the 24" HP IPS monitor I had. I was happy with the HP, but since I was upgrading my computer as well, wanted to replace everything. Besides, my wife and kids are happy since the HP replaced their old 19" LCD.
As a digital artist who prints things, and a die-hard CRT advocate, I was reluctant to move to an LCD, but it was time. The picture on the ASUS ProArt PA246Q is amazing, crisp, and the colors are almost exactly true to print, right out of the box without calibration! No noticeable issues with ghosting when gaming (at least for me - I generally play RPGs and some Left 4 Dead) Major improvement over my laptop screen. Price point was a little higher than I expected to spend, but I did a ton of research before purchasing this model, and don't regret it for a second. Very, very happy.

i wanted a new monitor and a bigger one than the two i have already (a Viewsonic VA 912b and an ASUS VW224) and of course with 16:10 ratio since i prefer a bigger screen than the hdtv format one. The VW224 is already 16:10 and is perfect for all use.
