DirectCU
Direct cooling for 20% cooler than reference
Please check out our microsite for more details and downloads.
If the GPU is the heart of a graphics card, then the cooling device would be its lungs. Without it, the graphics card would not be able to "breath" smoothly, causing it to break down or even cause the entire system to fail. For ultimate cooling, ASUS DirectCU thermal technology developed the ideal heat banishing copper in exclusively designed heat pipes for direct and fast heat dissipation.
ASUS DirectCU technology
Thick copper heatpipes are accurately positioned in direct contact with the GPU surface so heat is transported and dissipated efficiently to the heatsink - achieving a 20% cooler performance than reference. Since heat is carried away faster, fans can spin at a lower speed thus resulting in quieter performance than reference.
Other brands
An extra metal plate is placed between the heatpipes and GPU, slowing down heat transfer to the heatsink. Due to temperature build-up, the fan has to spin faster, leading to louder operating noise.

Super Alloy Power
15% performance boost, 2.5 times longer lifespan, 35°C cooler operation
The new and exclusive Super Alloy Power technology on ASUS graphics cards uses a special alloy formula which is highly-magnetic, heat-resistant and anti-corrosive. It delivers a more stable and quieter operation compared to the reference design – a welcome bonus sought after by performance seekers.
15% Performance Boost
During overclocking, the Super Hybrid Engine acts as an intelligent controller to switch between high and low intensity power profiles in real time for 15% performance boost*.
2.5X Longer Lifespan
Super Alloy Capacitor increases the card’s lifespan to 150,000 hours which is 2.5 times longer* than traditional capacitors.
35°C Cooler Operations
Super Alloy components are reinforced with special alloy formula and manufactured under high temperature and pressure to deliver stable and noise-free operation.
GPU Tweak
Tweak and tune like a PRO
Please check out our microsite for more details and downloads.
Overclocking is made real-time and intuitive with ASUS GPU Tweak utility. It not only allows you to optimize clock speeds, voltage and fan speeds on up to four graphics cards independently or simultaneously, you can also select between GPU Tweak’s Standard or Advanced modes depending on your level of experience. For gamers out there, GPU Tweak enables instantaneous in-game video recording* up to 720p resolution so you can share clips with the community easily. On top of these exciting tools, ASUS gives you more:
Sync GPU clocks and voltages for easier overclocking
Automatically check and update driver and BIOS versions
Get detailed specs and actual card status with GPU-Z
2D/3D switcher can lock the card in 3D for higher benchmarks
Moitoring widget provides detailed multi-parameter info

"ASUS has an offering for you that comes factory overclocked, it is boosting the GPU even over 1200 MHz already making the product really shine. The overall design is the evolution of the DirectCU II TOP DNA, and that shows. We have respect for NVIDIA's partners that go the extra mile with a cus
"Yes, you've seen correctly, the ASUS GeForce GTX 670 Direct CU II TOP is the first graphics card ever that I gave a perfect ten score. The stock GeForce GTX 670 provides already great performance, but ASUS has topped that by boosting it with a large overclock out of the box which catapults it b

This is a great card, great performance right out of the box with the over clock on it. 1920x1080 max everthing in BF3 and lowest FPS so far is 51 runs 60+ 90% of the time.
This is a great card with a few stability issues that have kept it from being the BEST card. Essentially, these cards shouldn't have been clocked as high as they were in the first place. Some users (remember to research before you buy!) have reported stupidly high overclocking potential, while others (including myself) have had less success - even some stability problems out of the box. While recent firmware updates have improved stability, they`ve done so at the cost of overall speed (the GPU 'kepler' boost was downclocked). Still, even at default settings, with a reduced 'kepler boost,' this card devouring any game I throw at it (1920x1200). For example - consistent 60 fps in BF3 (maxed everything) and Skyrim (maxed texture packs/graphics mods etc).
I bought this to replace an aging ati 4670... And I'm pretty happy with what I've got, it's MUCH faster than my previous card, quieter, pack a punch and hopefully will last me for at least 3 years... The only con I found yet is a bad interaction from Asus GPU Tweak but that's supposed to be fixed with an update so I would suggest not using the one on the cd that came with the card.

This card can either be blazing fast, or crash and burn depending on the card you receive. I RMA'd mine and bought the slower less overclocked version.

This card outperforms a stock 680. It handles any current game at the highest settings without even breaking a sweat. It runs cool, you cant hear the fans even under load. My case has high airflow so exhausting into the case isnt a problem, but might be in a poor flow case. But running cool, this is even debatable if thats worth being concerned. My preliminary fiddling with the card has resulted in some success of overclocking further, but I have read reviews of substantial overclocking with the right settings. I bought this to be a plug and play card so others likely will have better success overclocking.
Was running 2 xfx 5870's in xfire and thought they were fast ..... Then i installed this and almost wet myself. Even with the fan on 60% you can't hear it. This thing laughs at any game on any setting. When theres more in stock I'm defiantly buying another one, maybe 2 ..... :)
The card boosts itself and holds steady at 1256mhz in skyrim and the witcher 2 without me touching anything! 119mhz above the listed boost clock which is already well above reference. Temps hover around 52 celsius in crysis 2 and thats with the fans never exceeding 45% on auto. I could probably oc it further but why bother. Pictures do not do this card justice just how attractive it is. From the slick backplate to the nickel plated heat pipes its sexy. Haven't heard the fans over my case yet. Phenomenal card!
